AI Image Studio

Generate images by chat for 2 credits a turn. Reference images, aspect ratios, the Brand toggle, mask-brush Retouch, Virtual Try-On, and where the results are saved.

8 min read · Reviewed

Image Studio at /studio/photos is a chat. You describe an image, it makes one, and then you keep talking — refine, remix, retouch — turn by turn. Every generation costs 2 credits. The footer under the composer keeps that in front of you: "Each image costs 2 credits · Enter to send · Shift+Enter for a new line."

Two modes

ModeWhat it doesWhat it needs
GenerateMakes an image from a descriptionA prompt (references optional)
Try-OnDresses a person in a garmentA Person image and a Garment image — both required

Generate

The empty state reads Create anything — "Describe an image, attach references, and refine it turn by turn." A row of starter chips (Product Photo, Social Media Post, Banner Ad, Packaging Mockup and more) drops a worked prompt into the box for you to edit.

  • Prompt — plain description. Enter sends; Shift+Enter adds a line.
  • Reference images — attach up to 3 with the paperclip. Use them for a product, a face, a style you want matched.
  • Aspect ratio1:1, 4:5, 9:16, 16:9, 4:3, 3:4. Pick 4:5 for an Instagram feed post, 9:16 for a Story or Reel.
  • Brand toggle — adds your brand name and logo to the image.

Enhance is free — use it before you spend: The Enhance button rewrites your prompt into something the model can work with, and it costs nothing. A chip confirms Prompt enhanced with an Undo link if you preferred your own wording. Enhancing first, then generating once, is cheaper than generating three times.

Virtual Try-On

Switch to Try-On and two upload slots appear: Person and Garment. Both are required; the prompt is optional and describes the look, setting or pose. The empty state: Virtual Try-On — "Upload a person and a garment, then let AI dress them. Refine by chatting." Preset chips cover Studio Shot, E-commerce Flat, Outdoor Shoot and more.

Try-On is also reachable straight from a product's images, which is the point of it — see products-and-coupons. It costs the same 2 credits as any other turn.

Retouch, in practice

Retouch is the surgical tool. The panel header is explicit: Brush the area to change, then describe it. Brush over the part you want changed (there is an eraser and a brush-size slider), type the instruction — "remove this", "replace with a plant" — and press Apply. Leave the instruction empty and it erases and fills instead. Apply stays disabled until you have brushed something.

Remix vs Retouch: Remix re-imagines the whole image from your change. Retouch only touches the pixels you painted over. If the composition is right and one object is wrong, retouch. If the composition is wrong, remix.

Credits and low balance

Every generate, remix and retouch turn is 2 credits ($0.20). A credit pill in the studio header shows your live balance, and each finished result carries a small chip showing what it cost. As the balance runs low a Low credits chip appears next to the mode tabs; run out entirely and sending shows "Insufficient credits. Please top up your account."

Images are the cheapest thing in Clyentra's AI stack — iterating five times on an image costs 10 credits, or $1. Iterating on video does not. See ai-credits for the full price list and how to top up.

Where results are saved

Nothing is lost when you leave the chat. Everything you generate is filed automatically:

  • My Creations at /studio/creations, with tabs Photos, Try-On and Videos. Hover any thumbnail for Preview, Download, Remix and Delete.
  • Drive, under My CreationsImage Generation, Virtual Try-On or Video Generation. That means they behave like any other file — see drive-file-storage.
  • A narrow My Creations strip inside Image Studio itself on wide screens, so your last results stay one click from a remix.

Straight into a social post: In the composer's media tray, the AI Studio card opens this same studio. Pick an image, press Use in post, and it is attached with a public URL already in place — which is exactly what Instagram, YouTube, TikTok and Pinterest require. See compose-and-schedule-posts.

A working method

  1. Start rough. Type a plain description or press a starter chip. Do not agonise over the wording.
  2. Press Enhance. It is free. It rewrites your prompt into something specific. Undo if it drifted from what you meant.
  3. Set the aspect ratio before you send. 4:5 for an Instagram feed post, 9:16 for a Story, 16:9 for a website hero. Regenerating at the right ratio costs another 2 credits.
  4. Generate, then refine by chatting. Each follow-up is a new 2-credit turn. Remix for a different take, Retouch for one wrong object.
  5. Save or use it. Save downloads it. It is already in My Creations and Drive. Or pick it from a social post's AI Studio card with Use in post.

Permissions

Image Studio needs the AI Tools permission — Editor level to generate — and an active subscription. Credits come out of the shared organization balance, so anyone who can generate is spending from the same pool. See roles-and-permissions.

Questions people ask

How much does one image cost?

2 credits ($0.20). That covers a generate, a remix and a retouch alike — each is one turn. The Enhance button and the manual Editor are free.

Can I attach a reference image?

Yes — up to 3 in Generate mode, via the paperclip. Use them to hold a product, a face or a visual style steady across turns. Try-On mode instead takes exactly two: a Person and a Garment, both required.

What does the Brand toggle do?

It adds your organization's brand name and logo to the generated image. It is off by default and you toggle it per turn.

What is the difference between Remix and Retouch?

Remix starts a fresh turn from the whole image and re-imagines it around your instruction. Retouch is mask-brush inpainting — you paint over an area, describe the change, and only those pixels move. Both cost 2 credits.

A generation failed. Do I get the credits back?

Clyentra does not promise an automatic refund for a failed generation. Use the free Enhance button before you spend, and if something clearly went wrong on our side, write to support@clyentra.ai with your organization name and roughly when it happened.

Where did my image go after I closed the tab?

Into My Creations at /studio/creations (Photos / Try-On / Videos tabs) and into Drive under My CreationsImage Generation or Virtual Try-On. From either place you can preview, download, remix or delete it.

How do I get a generated image into a social post?

Open the composer, press the AI Studio card in the media tray, generate or pick an image, and press Use in post. It arrives with the public URL the platforms need — no upload step, no NOT PUBLIC warning.
