Create an organization

Walk through the five-step onboarding wizard that builds your Clyentra workspace: profile, demo data, regional settings, integrations, and plan.

7 min read · Reviewed

An organization is your workspace. Leads, pipelines, tasks, files, invoices, employees, and AI credits all belong to one. This page walks the onboarding wizard at /onboarding end to end, so you finish with a workspace you can invite people into.

A brand-new user with zero organizations is sent to the wizard automatically. To create an additional organization later, open the organization switcher in the header and choose Add Organization — it opens the same wizard.

Don't refresh mid-wizard: Only the current step is stored in the URL. The values you typed are not persisted. Refreshing or navigating away can cost you the fields on the step you were on. Set aside a few uninterrupted minutes.

The five steps

The progress bar at the top reads Profile, Seed Data, Location, Integrations, Plan, followed by a completion screen.

Step 1 — Launch Workspace

Headed Launch Workspace with the subtitle "Enter your details." There are exactly four fields, all required.

FieldNotes
Organization Name *The workspace name, for example Acme Inc.
Organization Email *The address the workspace uses as its own — not necessarily your personal login.
Phone *Validated against the country code you select in the picker.
Timezone *Pre-filled from your browser. This drives scheduling, reporting windows, and reminders, so check it.

Press Launch Workspace → to continue. Nothing has been saved to the server yet — this step only collects the details.

Step 2 — Seed Data

One toggle: Enable demo data, which is off by default. Turn it on and four cards appear describing what gets created — Sample Leads, Sample Customers, Sample Products, and Sample Invoices.

This is the step that actually creates the organization: The organization is created on the server when you press Continue → from Seed Data, not from step 1. The button briefly reads Creating... while that happens.

Turn demo data on if you want to explore pipelines and invoices with something already in them. Turn it off if this workspace is going live with real customer records — you will not have to clean up sample rows later.

Step 3 — Regional Settings

Headed Regional Settings. This sets your address, your billing defaults, and your tax identifiers. You can Skip it and fill it in later from Organization settings, but currency and country shape invoices and reports across the whole workspace, so it is worth doing now.

  • Street address *
  • Country * — selecting it also sets a matching default currency
  • State / Province *
  • City *
  • ZIP / Postal code *
  • Currency * — defaults to USD
  • Language *

The two tax fields change with the country you pick. Clyentra relabels them so you enter the identifier your jurisdiction actually uses.

CountryFirst tax fieldSecond tax field
United StatesEIN Number (for example 12-3456789)State Tax ID
CanadaGST / HST Number (for example 123456789RT0001)Business Number
Everywhere else (including the UK and the EU)VAT NumberTIN / Business ID

Both tax fields are optional — leave them blank if you do not have them yet. Press Save & Continue →, or use Back or Skip.

Step 4 — Integrations

Three optional sub-steps, shown one at a time. Each has a Quick Guide panel explaining where to find the credentials, and each can be skipped with Skip and connected later from Integrations.

Sub-stepFieldsWhat it unlocks
Connect Vercel IntegrationVercel Token *, Project Id, Team IdDeploying sites you build in Clyentra to your own Vercel account.
Connect Stripe PaymentsPublishable Key, Secret KeyTaking customer payments on invoices and storefronts.
Connect Google AnalyticsProperty ID, Service Account Key JSONPulling GA4 traffic and conversion data into your dashboards.

Skip what you don't have: Do not stall onboarding hunting for API keys. Every one of these three can be added later without touching the wizard again.

Step 5 — Choose your plan

Headed Choose your plan. Each plan card carries a Seats stepper. The minimum you can select is your current active user count, and the price updates as you change it — a three-seat Starter subscription reads $29 × 3 users / month.

  • Starter — $29 per user / month
  • Growth — $79 per user / month
  • Pro — $149 per user / month

Below the cards is the trial banner: "Or start with a 3-day free trial — No credit card required, cancel anytime." Press Start free trial to take it. Choosing a paid plan sends you to Stripe checkout instead. Either way you can change the plan afterwards on Usage & Billing (/usage). See Subscription and billing.

Completion

The final screen shows the badge Setup Complete and the heading Your workspace is ready!. Press Launch Workspace → and Clyentra switches you into the new organization and drops you on the dashboard at /home/overview.

First moves in a new workspace: Invite your team (Manage your team), check the roles they get (Roles and permissions), then bring your customer data in (Leads and customers).

Questions people ask

When is my organization actually created?

When you press Continue → on the Seed Data step. Step 1 only collects your details; the server call happens on step 2, which is why that button briefly reads Creating....

Can I skip the regional settings and integrations?

Yes. Both steps have a Skip control, and the three integration sub-steps are individually skippable. Regional settings can be completed later in organization settings; integrations can be connected later from the integrations screen.

Why does the tax field say EIN Number instead of VAT Number?

The tax labels follow the Country you select. United States gives you EIN Number and State Tax ID, Canada gives you GST / HST Number and Business Number, and any other country gives you VAT Number and TIN / Business ID.

Should I turn on demo data?

Turn it on to explore the product with populated leads, customers, products, and invoices. Leave it off (the default) if this workspace is going straight into production use, so you do not have to delete sample records later.

How many seats do I have to buy?

The Seats stepper will not go below your organization's active user count. If you are alone, that is one seat; the number rises as you add teammates.

Can I create a second organization?

Yes. Open the organization switcher in the header and choose Add Organization. It runs the same five-step wizard, and the new workspace is completely separate from the first.

I refreshed the page mid-wizard and lost my answers. Why?

Only the step is kept in the URL — the form values are held in memory. Re-enter the fields for the step you were on and continue. If the organization was already created (step 2 onwards), it still exists; you are only re-entering that step's inputs.
